The Sacredness of Circumstance

Rom 8:28

Have you ever sat back at the end of the day and thought
about the ballet that was your day? Driving from place to
place, appointment to appointment or even those three
traffic lights that you seemed to time so perfectly. Then
finding out that you just missed a traffic accident behind
you. Traffic jams for no apparent reason? It is always a
possibility that I am a little off, but I wonder about
those kinds of things from time to time. It is part of
looking for and seeing God in our daily lives.
We can ask Jesus anything, even something as odd as this,
anytime. As always he is there to answer. Maybe the answer
was a little more important to me because I don't do well
in heavy traffic. Part of his answer is our reading today.
ALL things!! That is who is elected, traffic lights and
jams, good occurences, bad occurrences, sickness and
health. ALL things! I confess I don't understand why
everything happens the way it does; however, I can see and
have faith in the fact that God is in control and his plan
is moving forward. 
We as humans have such limited perspective. What we can
know for sure is Jesus is still seated at the right hand of
God. His plan for us, The church age, is that the salvation
and the return of Jesus is on schedule. Nothing thwarts or
slows it. Nations rise, nations fall, but God is in
control. He used Rome, Egypt, Syria, Russia and Germany. He
used heathen, Jew, Gentile alike. Why would a guy stuck in
traffic think he is exempt? Our Father raises, molds,
shapes, uses and discards Nations, people, even
persecutions of peopl; ALL to bring about his plans and our
greatest good.
Here is the most amazing part: the smallest, seemingly
trivial detail of our lives is orchestrated the same way!
Our minds are truly far to limitedto comprehend his control
on a global scale. Like the lowliest laborer manipulating
and knowing the finest detail of a giant construction
project, it just can't happen. It is our FAITH, confidence
and trust, which lets us know that the Master and Lord of
all will bring us to glory. He will draw his people, the
very sheep of his hand to himself. It matters not who sits
on Earthly thrones, or a traffic jam, ALL things work
together for Good for those who are called to HIS purpose.
Have YOU gotten that call? Your phone is ringing. Let us
pray:
Lord God, your plans are a master work. We are simply not
capable of understanding all of it. We may get a handle on
our part. Your ways are vast, yet you know the hairs on my
head. You are God most high. "Why do the heathen rage?",
your word asks. Because they don't understand that YOU are
on the throne of Heaven. Working it out.... ALL THINGS.
Lord, help us to do our part in your plan, to aid your
Spirit. To reach those who are truly lost. We want to serve
YOU. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
