Love Compels

John 14:15

The last few months God has placed a burden on my heart. That burden has been to empress on the body of Christ that Obedience to Christ is more important than what ever canidate or party you supported this past election. This applies to all other areas of our walk with God. The true question that is being asked is "Where is your allegiance? Is it with man or with God?" Today's reading is as profound as it is simple. Jesus is a gentleman's gentleman. Meaning he will never force or strong arm us into obeying. His word has revealed to us the standards for us and our lives. With that being the case, what makes us obey then?

In a word, Love. The more we love, the greater our desire to trust that what his word tells us is correct and to obey  becomes possible. The opposite is equally true if we put ANYTHING or ANYONE ahead of Jesus and our obedience to him. We are in essence saying "MY will, not THY will" and God can never bless that. It matters not how we see it, only what he has revealed in his word. I am sorry if that is Harsh, but it is the point of the lesson given by Jesus in Mark 10:17-22(also see Matthew 19:16-24 and Luke 18:18-25). I won't ever dilute GOds truth with opinion. We want to please the one who has given all to save us. We want to be pleasing children to our Heavenly Father because when we were unlovable, he Loved us with an everlasting love; A one and only Love. We seek opportunity to serve him and please him. It is the essence of worship. The truth is NOTHING shows our love and faith in him like obedience. Obedience is the first and best way to demonstrate our FAITH! He says do it this way. It no longer matters what we think on a subject, what does matter is our demonstrating our Faith by doing as he has declared is the way it should be. That is the first step into a lifestyle of Lordship. I'm demonstrating that I have died to self and am now living by Faith in Christ. We will never be let down or disappointed in that choice. Have you chosen Jesus? Let us pray:

Lord, I pray this day as your priest. I pray for each one reading this. I pray that they will choose faith as the hallmark of their Christian walk with you. Draw them closer to you, hold them in your loving arms. We are yours, the sheep of your pasture. We love to be called yours. Let us show that we are yours by our obedience. In Jesus' name, Amen and Amen.
